Checked my streaming stats, submitted songs for playlists, checked my radio plays and got back to my radio plugger.
I hope the people interested in my music read my written work, and vice versa I guess. I don't know which one is easier to market. Both the music industry and the literary industry feel inaccessible to me. I don't even think I want to participate in those industries because they seem to be run by people opposed to my existence.
I have an "anti-bio" it's written by me in first person and I talk about not marketing myself but letting curiosity guide my supporters to me. I felt like that at the time. But now I make YT shorts, I have a radio plugger and I have this blog. I've also made adverts for digital billboards I must share them on here. Olólùfè Collective also has a Tiktok and Instagram so marketing will be done there. I guess what I said about not marketing has fallen by the wayside.
Visibility is weird. I don't want to become a brand, but I do have a logo. I don't want to be famous, I want to be as recognisable as a 20th Century poet. I want the focus to be on my art. I don't know whether this blog helps or hinders that. I am writing. I haven't shared any unpublished essays or poems yet. I have a few micro blogs that are pretty personal. I don't know.
I know fame is violence and a form of psychological torture. Many famous people have reiterated this again and again and I believe them. I hate being monitored that's why I'm not on social media. Balancing privacy and visibility and marketing and connecting with people who can affirm my reality and whose reality can be affirmed by me that's a challenge I'm navigating.
I find that people are drawn to me, they are curious about me but it feels like the closer they get the less appealing I become.
That's not a personal thing I'm not going to be compatible with everyone I meet but also there are historical and present day bias that can make my manifestation of humanity jarring. Especially if you have pre conceived notions about what a Leo should be like lol. I would rather deep connections than many connections, sincerity over popularity.
I think its bizarre/interesting/funny that my art work is relatable but I'm not.
Anyways I don't know, I embrace my differences and it has typically led to different experiences so hopefully in regards to my art, the difference can show up once again. I don't want the experience a lot of people have in the creative industry, it sounds like hell.
