October 2026 - Substack, black queer shorts and loads of alt Black/African music!

I have been caring for my sister, travelling, packing and rearranging my life. I have also been resting which I promised myself at the beginning of the year but I wanted to share the art, media and works that have been helping me cope.

Hi, how are you coping? an article I wrote to the supporters of Olólùfẹ́ Collective about mental wellbeing, coping mechanisms and the social and cultural racial hierarchy that has shaped us, edited by Katlego.

The Journey Back To Beauty a futuristic poem I wrote about the kind of world I hope to contribute to, a future I am conjuring up.

    Substack

Whitney Time - Read their poem "Arthropod Ascension" where they explore death, grief and the spiritual possibilities of bugs. The poem brings me to the dirt and has me questioning mortality on a micro perspective.

oneofthemany - I love the way they use the notes feature to share their micro thoughts and feelings, its way beyond regurgitated hot takes, these geopolitical and cultural takes are scotch bonnet peppe and you might feel a way.

St.EvE. Intergalactic Odyssey - Read their essay "The World Is Burning. What Are You Becoming?" it has so many pointed questions about new worlds, new beliefs and new behaviours. I am consistently challenged and radicalised by their work.

Shawnon C. - Read their article "September 23 and me" which is reflective and hopeful after a painful divorce. Their writing reminds me vulnerability can be so freeing.

    Blogs

I found this blog on Substack and I thought it was a great source for navigating digital spaces, it widened my perspective for sure as there were some really insightful observations about radical movements.
