To expand on what I wrote here about children being used for money ritual.

If children, elderly people and disabled people were prioritised over money, profits and the economy facism would not have the momentum it has now. 

Once fascists saw that liberals, most leftists and even staunch anarchists were cool with eating in restaurants again, not wearing a mask and not demanding clean air it really boosted them. 

There was a confirmation and cosign to fascists that in the imperial core at least, that it truly is a dog eat dog world and when push comes to shove individual comfort, even if it costs the lives of others, will be prioritised over community care that protects the most marginalised people first.
