• Wicked

I watched Wicked for the third time yesterday. The craftsmanship from all the contributors is truly humbling. From set design, costume, hair and makeup, dancers and the lead actors there is a commitment to their craft that shines.

Cynthia Erivo's voice and micro expressions have blown me away each time. She embodied Elphaba from H to T. The vocal performance while in a harness is nothing less than spectacular.

I have a real soft spot for Cynthia Erivo, she used to train at Stratford East and she's a queer, dark skin Nigerian Londoner who is sincerely committed to her craft and artistry.

I'm never going to discount or minimise the weird shit like being partnered with Lena Waithe or xenophobic dog whistles against Black Americans.

I just hope she has fully unsubscribed from anti-black xenophobic tendencies. And the people who will never rock with her because of that, I don't think they have to nor would I expect them to.

Speaking of the weird in Wicked, fuck Ethan Slater. I despise a man that harms a pregnant or post partum person. It's cruel and he's a dangerous clout chasing loser. Ariana partnering with him is so bizarre and truly weird shit.
