If I censor myself because I'm afraid of sabotage and saboteurs then the saboteurs have got what they wanted. They want suffering in silence.
I have to make this promise to myself right from the first post.
I will try my very best not to censor myself. Even if it doesn't align with the values I put forward. Even if I come across bitter, angry, jealous and hateful. Even if it's not very "Love, Builder of Worlds" of me.
I do believe love has and will build new worlds, and I believe with construction there is also destruction. I am an aid, an accomplice and administrative contributor to those who seek to destroy civilisation as we know it.
And I will not censor myself. Others may try censor me. But I will not censor myself.
And at the time of writing this January 24 Children of Blood and Bone is in the news and I hated that book.
Children of Blood and Bone was deeply unsatisfying, with unnecessary violence towards children and a story that fell flat. I keep reading hoping things would turn around but they didn't. It's been years since I read it so I don't remember much but I know that I felt like DNFing (did not finish) it at multiple points. I did not read the second or third book and you couldn't pay me to. The cast for the film was announced recently and here's to hoping Tomi Adeyemi makes better films than she does films.
